This project was to design a postcard for the IFFA (Iranian Film Festival). The concept that they wanted was to be similar to past years with a number which this year would have the number 7 as it's there 7th film festival They also wanted it to look Iranian in some way by incorporating the sun and lion init with the number 7.

 

For my design, I went about sketching a few different designs that incorporated the number 7 with the sun and lion. Then I went and started to put them onto illustrator and came up with the concept that had the number 7 with the sun rays curved around the arm of the 7 and on top of the 7 the lions head was placed. This was then changed to having the sun rays go right around the number 7 which was how the first one looked.    

 

For the first version, the colours that were used was a light blue for the 7, a goldish colour for the lions face and light orange for the main of the lion, and the sun's rays had to different colours for the long parts was a cream colour and for the short parts a dark reddish-brown colour. These colours were used in the final logo design but the lions head was removed from it and the number 7 got a pattern inside of it with curves with circles in them.

 

The design for the final outcome had the number 7 with the pattern inside of it with curves with circles in them and the sun rays go right around the number 7. The colours that were used was a light blue for the 7, orange for the 7 inside the light blue 7, dark blue for the curves inside the orange 7 and light blue for the circles in the curves and the sun's rays had to different colours for the long parts was a cream-yellow colour and for the short parts a dark reddish-brown colour. A texture was also added to the logo which was done in Photoshop. The background colour was a cream colour which stuck to the Iranian colours. The final colours for the text were light blue, dark blue and reddish-brown. Also, a number 7 needed to be placed next to the name and this was a light blue number 7.
